-Fundamentally Numb-
On a gloomy shore
I stare across the endless gray
Inside of a gloomy mind
It's this peace I adore
A numbness came over me
Wrapping its wires around my consciousness
The water is fading to the palest blue
While my body falls under the spell of the sea
My eyes are paralyzed by the serenity
The feelings are so surreal it hurts
Across the horizon, it's hard to fathom
I know of two places I wish to be
The sun will crack my peaceful intermission
A very sad and disorienting discomfort befell me
Eyes transfixed on the final moments of a melancholy happiness
You should be with me to take in this somniferous ocean
A purple horizon is shone as the sun induces dawn
This is a disastrous act by nature to shatter my smile
As the sun creeps higher, my heart wrenches tighter
That wish of mine still holds strong, this wish is all but gone
Dreams taunt a restless me in temporary sleepy death
Awake and alone, I'm regretful for things unsaid
I went away too soon, from the world inside my head
I'll stand on this shore and imagine the taste of your enticing breath
Staring at the endless gray
I hold you in my arms, so secure
This is our voluptuous transaction
While we fall into a beautifully breathless oblivion
